JoAnna Belle, the oldest child and only daughter of George and Martha. Born in Cooptown, Harford County, Maryland. Died of breast cancer at her home on Ridge Road, Whiteford, Harford County, Maryland at the age of 55.

Family scuttlebutt says that she was a teacher at a little one room school house at the intersection of Whiteford Road and Ridge Road in Whiteford, Maryland. I couldn't find any information on her in a search of the Harford County School District archives.

She is buried next to her husband and daughter (Martha Jane) in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania (only a few miles from her home in Whiteford, Maryland).

Family tradition says that neither of her parents wanted her marring into "that NORRIS family" - but she did anyway - thank goodness, otherwise some of my best friends and relatives wouldn't be here.

Dora Levinia NORRIS - known as 'Ennie' (July 11, 1877/July 25, 1968, buried in the Shenberger Cemetery, York, York, PA). She married first, Sherman William SWORDS (1866/1944) on October 14, 1896. Their children;

Ethel A. SWORDS - (1897/September 19, 1927), she is buried at the Prospect Methodist Church cemetery, Gatchelville, York, PA.

Rachael E. SWORDS - (June 24, 1900/August 22, 1971). Married Harry B. LOUCKS (1890/1945) both are buried at Shenberger Cemetery, York, York, PA. They had the following 3 children;

Elizabeth Ray Norris - known as 'Bessie' (September 16, 1879/January 27, 1967). Married Isaac Napoleon Bonapart Bryan JONES on November 26, 1899. Both are buried at Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, York, PA. They had the following children;
