Children: Howard Mewshaw, Hobart Milton, John Franklin, Jr., Harry Stewart, Joshua Lawrence, George E., Carrie Belle, Charles Earl, Walter Vernon, William Raymond.

I am related to two NORRIS lines which, according to the rantings and ravings of each, have no common ancestor. This is one of those lines. As far as I can tell to date their prime geographical area is Southern Maryland, Northern Virginia and Washington D.C.

The 1880 Census puts them in the 3rd District of Baltimore County, Maryland.
The 1900 Census at 1747 Thomas Avenue, Baltimore City, Maryland. John was a Coach Painter and so was John, Jr. Howard was a Stonecutter. Joshua a Plumbers Apprentice. They had 11 children. By 1900 five were still alive.

They had the following children:
Howard Mewshaw NORRIS - (May 13, 1876/November 5, 1948). Married Myrtle Almira ENFIELD (November 15, 1875/December 17, 1946) on November 12, 1902. They had two children;
Howard Russell NORRIS - (January 1, 1905/). He married Helen JAWORSKI on October 31, 1932. I have no record of children.
William Leslie NORRIS - (December 13, 1909/). He married Mildred HADSELL on February 26, 1937. I have no record of children here either.
Hobart Milton NORRIS - (August 8, 1878/October 3, 1881). He was only 3 years old.
John Franklin NORRIS, Jr. - (March 27, 1880/November 15, 1906). 26 years old.
Harry Stewart NORRIS - (March 5, 1882/April 29, 1883). He was 1 year old.
Joshua Lawrence NORRIS - (May 2, 1882/June 14, 1949). He married Mae Frederika KORN (November 13, 1883/) on March 8, 1906. They had two children;
Alden Fredericks NORRIS - (October 27, 1910/). Alden married Virginia Mae WATSON on August 3, 1940. They had two children;
Constance Lee NORRIS - (February 28, 1943/).
Judith Lynn NORRIS - (July 21, 1947/). married first Thomas Daryl FRENCH. They had two boys;

Judith then married Jerry Nathan Ray MORRELL (February 2, 1949/) on September 2, 1983.
Leah Cristine NORRIS - (December 20, 1922/). Leah married John Norvell STEEN on July 1, 1944. They had two boys;
John Norvell STEEN, Jr. - (June 2, 1946/). He married Sarah Louise MILBURY (January 25, 1943/) on July 3, 1974. They have one daughter;
Blythe Rebecca STEEN - (August 21, 1978/).
James Lawrence STEEN - (August 4, 1950/). He married Dianne PIGEON (August 10, 1945/) on June 10, 1972. They have two boys;
John Emory STEEN - (June 15, 1975/).
Kenneth Lawrence STEEN - (May 4, 1978/)
George E. NORRIS - (October 10, 1886/July 17, 1887). He was only 9 months old.
Carrie Belle NORRIS - (July 9, 1885/September 10, 1885). She was 2 months old.
Charles Earl NORRIS - (June 21, 1887/November 9, 1952). He was my grandfather, I'm glad he lived for awhile. He married Flora WATTS (November 26, 1891/April 16, 1982). She was my grandmother. They were married on March 8, 1919. They had one child - my mother;
Evelyn Virginia NORRIS - (November 12, 1919/). Evelyn married Earl Carroll SMITH twice - yes twice. Once on February 13, 1942 in a private ceremony that only my dad and mom and Pastor Otis B. Read, Jr. attended - because dad was going to war and they couldn't wait, and the public one a week later on February 20, 1942. They had five boys;
Earl Carroll SMITH, Jr. - (June, 1943/November 26, 1943). The brother we never knew.
